RAND HRS Data Version H-2: Corrections to Disability Application Status and Total Years Worked
A new version of the RAND HRS Data File has been released, replacing all prior versions.
Two problems have been discovered with the RAND HRS Version H. One affects SSI disability application status and the second affects total years worked. The problems have been corrected in rndhrs_h files currently available for download.
If you prefer a file with just the changed variables to merge with your current data, please contact RANDHRShelp@rand.org. Note that these corrections will be incorporated in Version I, which should be released within a month or so.
Please visit the RAND HRS Data area of the What's Available page or click on the following links to see the Ver H-2 Feb 2009 problem description for details and updated frequencies and means. Sect E Social Security provides the revised disability codebook section.
This file was developed by the RAND Center for the Study of Aging. The National Institute on Aging (NIA) and Social Security Administration (SSA) provided funding for the file's development. SSA's Office of Research, Evaluation and Statistics provided important research direction in the data file's design.
Please visit the RAND Aging Center Data Products for more information about what these files are, and how they can be obtained.
Questions or problems concerning the RAND HRS Data should be addressed to RANDHRShelp@rand.org at RAND.
