November 7, 2008:

Minor revisions to HRS 2006 Core and Exit metadata:

  • When the HTML versions of the HRS 2006 Core and Exit data sets were created, the 2-character level name value was used instead of the 1-character level value, resulting in inconsistent linkage values that produced 404 errors for certain Concordance queries. New HTML files have now been created to correct this problem.
  • Additional (minor) changes have been made to the Online Concordance related to the level - levelname changes mentioned above.

September 30, 2008:

Changes to the Online Concordance.

  • The Concordance has been updated with a new record set derived from variable names used in the distribution files of HRS 2006 Core Final v1.0 data product.
  • Cross-reference information for 2002, 2004, and 2006 Exit codebooks has been added.
  • Base Name: Beginning in 2002, variables that match over time are assigned a common variable name with a prepended wave indicator. The common variable name is now stored in the Concordance database as Base Name. Concordance users can now enter a specific value for Base Name and retrieve all matching records.
  • Short Label: For biennial interview years 2002 and beyond, Short Label is identical to Variable Name, but for prior years, it contains question label information. For more information, see the User Notes.

August 19, 2008:

  • The Online Concordance has been updated with a new record set derived from variable names used in the distribution files of HRS 2006 Exit data product. This replaces a record set that used unmodified Blaise variable names.
