Preliminary", and "Truncated Variable Width in Q699, Q703". These and other data alerts can
be found on this web page under Data and Documentation/ Data Center/ Data Alerts.
- As part of the HRS Wave 1 data collection an effort was made to collect pension plan
information from respondents' employers. In coordination with HRS, Bob Peticolas has
created a special public use file based on this data for those HRS respondents whose
pension plans were successfully collected. This data file is now available for download
under Data and Documentation/ Data Center/ Researcher Contributions.

to reflect progress on the AHEAD Wave 2 Partial Public Release. (The AHEAD
Wave 2 Partial Public Release will not be available before July 1999 due to
delays in processing the HRS1998 Preliminary Release. We apologize for the
inconvenience.)
May 26, 1999:
- Questionnaires for HRS Wave 1 [1992], AHEAD Wave 1 [1993], and HRS Wave 2 [1994] have now
been set up for viewing "online" under Data and Documentation/ Data Center/ Questionnaires/
"view questionnaires online". The questionnaires are presented in a single table, broken down
by content area, in a concordance-type format.
- Adobe PDF versions of HRS Wave 1 [1992] and HRS Wave 2 [1993] questionnaires are now
available for download under Data and Documentation/ Data Center/ Questionnaires/ "download questionnaires".

- Notice: Users of HRS restricted Social Security data may now use Version 1.0
of the HRS/AHEAD Tracker File in conjunction with any currently distributed
Social Security restricted dataset. While written permission from HRS is not
necessary for use of this file with HRS restricted data, restricted data
users are reminded that HRS must be informed of any data files (such as the
HRS/AHEAD Tracker File) used in conjunction with HRS restricted data. This
can be done by sending email to
"catlieb@isr.umich.edu".

- Two new supplemental files are available for the AHEAD Wave 2 Preliminary
Release; they may be obtained from the same location as other AHEAD Wave 2
Preliminary Release files. The first, "DOP10.EXE", is a supplement to the
core dataset, and contains information on children and household members.
The second, "DXHELP.EXE", is a supplement to the exit proxy dataset, and
contains information on helpers.
