What's Available (Public)

This section contains a year-by-year listing of public datasets and files which are currently available to registered users. To see metadata information available for a particular interviewing year, select any of the links in the Data Collection Year column of the Cross-Section Datasets sub-table. With the exception of sensitive health data products[2], all files on this page are available to any registered user.

Note: Be sure to review Data Alerts after downloading datasets in order to catch up on recent changes.

1. Table Contents
   • Column 1: Year in which data collection effort began, or years covered by the data product.
   • Column 2: Name of data product, linked to Metadata summary table.
   • Column 3: Field Period -- first and last month in which interviews were taken.
   • Column 4: Date of most recent release
   
   
2. Sensitive Health Data Products are available under terms of a supplemental registration system that requires special download procedures. If you have questions concerning a Sensitive Health Data Product, contact HRS Restricted Data User Support for further information.
   
   
3. HRS Researcher Contributions are provided by fellow researchers interested in sharing their work. Interested researchers are encouraged to contribute their own datasets by submitting them via electronic mail to HRS User Support. HRS does not produce these files and thus can not support them, nor can HRS be responsible for their content or use. They are provided here as a service to the research community.
